Rear disc brakes "mooing"

Featured Replies

Hi

I own a 2003 9n polo 130 GT, it is still under vw warrenty, and every now and again the rear brakes scream, somtimes it can go on for a day or 30 secs!

I have read it is a design fault and if it is under warrenty it is coverd, i took it back to vw and the snobby  hhmm lady said that anything to do with the brakes was wear and tear and they werent going to even look at it. She wasnt keen on looking at any of the faults but she said to book it in(not for the brakes though:mad: ).

I have looked at the rear pads and discs and they have plenty of life in them!

What do you recommend i do? Is it covered under warrenty?

Many thanks

If its when you are parked up, I've been told its due to them tightening up and is ok.

Try a search, there is a fix for the Fabia for mooing rear brakes, using the mod kit from VW..lol

Hello my brakes aren't working any more.

Well I'm sorry sir you will see that that is not covered by the warrenty and thats just fair wear and tear.

Oh ok sorry to have bothered you i'll just go drive into a brick wall.

Damn muppet!

Have a read of Skoda's new vehicle warranty here - VW's will have similar terms - then make up your own mind whether or not what you were told is correct.
