How to remove the lights in the bottom of door card?

Featured Replies

Hi

Does anyone know how to remove the red / white lights at the bottom of the Superb Mk3 door cards?  I wanted to replace these with the superskoda bright items.

Tried giving it a go earlier and felt like I’d end up causing some damage so gave up.  It was as if the outer lens was separating from the module or something.

thanks

I replaced all ours with Skoda logo units. I used a wide head slot screwdriver. You pop the head into the side of the unit at a 45 degree angle and lever it out. I did the same on our MKII; they’re the same units.

Dragging this back up....

One of my lights is loose and can dangle out of the door. I assume this means that the unit needs to be replaced?

If the tabs are broken then yes, but if not you just push them back in, think it hooks under the top and clips on the bottom.

Thanks. Looks like one of the tabs is broken. Now secured in place with speed tape until the dealer gets his hands on it.

I have only had the car two and a bit months.

i've put a set of these from AliExpress before - the quality & fitment is poor in comparison to the factory ones.  threw them in the bin.

The Kopacek ones, which i have now, r much better and the same quality as the factory ones

Cagey I have the same problem on my 23 plate Kodiaq and been told there is an investigation charge as they can’t tell me if the warranty covers it?

If they’re the same as the Superb units, I have a spare which you can have.

Ha! Me again. Was looking into the “safety lights” at the bottom of the rear doors and wondered how you’d  fitted yours?
on first look, my doors only appear to have reflectors? 🤷🏻‍♂️

cheers Mike.

Thanks so I’m guessing L&K had all doors with lights and the remainder just had reflectors in rears doors. ☹️ Mine’s a Sportline Plus.

Mine had reflectors on the rear doors as well - I did the wiring so I could put actual door lights, like the front.

U can read about the discussion I wrote many years ago here.
