hello again ive changed my head unit for a kenwood 808 with an autoleads adapter what i need to is what will happen if i plug in my laptop with vagcom does this adapter stop it from killing my laptop or do i still need to do something else ive had a look on here but am a little confused (as usual)

I believe you are talking about the 'aftermarket radio problem'. Do a search on RossTech website for info.

If you have used the Autoleads afaptor to turn around the two +ve's then you ought to be ok. Many newer interfaces also have in built protection.

If you have used the autoleads adapter you will have no problems. The problem ocurrs when not using the adapter.

yes the after market problem thats what i was worried about i bought the adapter about a week ago so i should be ok then
