Cabin temperature sensor location

Next on the list of things that are broken.....

The heater's either hot, or cold, nothing in between. Nothing showing on VCDS (can't believe it's not got seized heater flaps on it's list of woes). If it were my mk1 fabia, I'd be cleaning out the little vent on the climate control panel that measures the cabin temperature - where is it on a mk2 octy?

Centre of fan speed control, about the size of a pencil eraser.

I had similar problems, while blowing full hot on a warm day despite the 16C setting (ambient) I was able to trick things by holding the hot cigarette lighter in front of the sensor.  It blew cool within seconds and my diagnostic tool showed the cabin sensor reading approximately 10C colder than actual.

Not wanting to buy another complete unit I took it apart, the thermistor would be near impossible to source so my only option was to refresh the solder joints and now my climatronic works fine.

Easy job, prise outer trim out (goes around radio) then it's just torx screws to remove the unit, disconnect the wiring connector and more torx screws to separate the unit.

Sometimes it's not an error but just the temp readings themselves that are iffy. Check VCDS measurements for temp sensors and see if anything looks iffy.

Solid advice from @MicMac as well :D
