Cracked windscreen, any tips?

Featured Replies

Nasty crack today, before calling repair company are there any window trims, clips that need replacing at the same time?

Has a few bad experiences getting glass replaced in the past.

The only issue I had was that the parking ticket clip was a bit floppy afterwards. Parts-wise, either nothing needed replacing or the windscreen company knew what was required and supplied it.

If you have Lane Assist or TSR, don't forget to test both systems once you get the car repaired, since they need camera calibration after windscreen replacement.

Be sure everything work fine to be able to open claim quickly if needed!

Also check the parking ticket clip as said above. Mine had been glued by the operators. :wall: Hopefully this costs less than £2 as spare part, and I've written a 'how to' guide to change t on your own, if needed!... ;)

No camera there, just the rain sensor so should be ok. Will keep an eye on them when they are doing the work though.
