Looking to get magnifiers.

This particular one is at the bottom end price wise, I would be willing to spend more - £50 or more if there was good reason.

 

Main use initially is for re-tuning harmonica reeds - fairly intricate work - but with advancing decrepitude will no doubt find lots of uses.

 

Fairly sure I would want a pair with a light source as it is always difficult to arrange a good enough lighting.

 

Anyway - any particular advice or recommendations based on your experience. 

I've been looking to buy something similar for painting models and figures.

The light doesn't look very bright on these though and they look cheaply made, so I'm still looking. If I find better I'll come back with an update.

In the UK RS Components appears to have quite a range, including those at the more expensive end of the scale.

 

For bench work there is also the option of this sort of thing

but I'm not sure of the pros and cons of this versus the wearable type.
