Hi all,

 

Have just bought a 65 plate L&K Superb Estate in black with cream interior, 2 owners but full Skoda history with 64000 miles on her (assume still allowed to say her, as being a car don't think she's gender fluid!)

 

Anyway, bought a 2018 Merc in August after a lot of wrangling over my short list of 1) L&K 2) Merc E220 estate 3) Mondeo Vignale estate, discounted 3) quite quickly after test drive and that stupid Sync 3 Ford still insist on, then spent a LOT of weeks over other 2 until a deal I couldn't refuse came up on the Merc.

 

Fast forward to now and urgent trade required to help daughter out financially, followed by 150 mile trip for Superb from Shrewsbury (home) to Weston-super-Mare and I love her! Not a badge snob by any means so after 'forced' sale only car I looked at was Skoda and no regrets whatsoever.

 

Have been lurking on here for a week or so, just as lots of questions, but didn't want to post questions that had already undoubtedly been asked, search is your friend! So signed up to ERWINS for a day and downloaded everything I could, and am currently waiting for GENUINE VCDS lead to arrive so I can enter that murky world (prepare for stupid questions) Don't intend to do anything mad just a couple of tweaks. Bought from Gendans, talking of whom, below is the text of the email they sent following despatch (only included as made me laugh)

 

Your product has been gently taken from our shelves with soft cotton gloves and placed on a cushion for its journey to the packing area.
A team of 4 packers thoroughly inspected your item and polished it to ensure it is in the best possible condition before beginning the packing process.
Our packing specialist from Sweden lit a scented candle and demanded silence from everyone in the office. A perfect ambiance is required to allow him to achieve packaging perfection.
Once completed, we all had a wonderful celebration and the team marched to the delivery company, waving and spreading good cheer as we journeyed through Swansea. Everyone applauded, shouted Bon Voyage! and hugged one another as the van left.

 

I've also signed up for the Freedom membership as intend being here long term. Probably won't be able to offer any mechanical advice as I just drive them don't fix them, but only right to register.

Welcome Dave to the forum.

 

There are many lurkers and shady characters here on the Forum....just your average set of car-nutts (with too many loose spanners and tools) - myself included!

 

Hope you enjoy your Freedom membership and that you enjoy using your VCDS.  Make sure you register on the forum, so you might be able to help any future Skoda/VW owners with scanning that needs to be done.
