Hello just bought estate. Running fine for a month then oil temp warning came on 86 of? Is it a problem ? Only 90 half way on clock. 

It will have been either an oil level warning or oil pressure warning. Or even a coolant level warning.

What colour was the warning light?

Have you checked the oil level on the dipstick? And the coolant level in the expansion tank?

Hello , no oil light , just warning letters and 86 in the middle info cluster. 
oil looks full and clean I checked this morning. 
i do have a full service coming up in a week for oil change etc. 

Turned engine back on after five mins 84 , probably just saying it’s temp. Was normal white letters

An oil temperature of 86 is not remotely warning-worthy; so you probably just accidentally switched something to make it display oil temperature. Relax.

Hah yes sound like me ! Thanks mate , just **** myself over nothing. 

You must have gone to a different setting on the maxidot if not usually on Oil Temperature.

 

Oil temp once up to temp is usually 92 on a Twincharger, goes between 90-92 when just trucking along, can go up to 115 + when driving hard and spirited, and then should drop as you slow down.

What were the warning letters?      The Coolant gauge is different.

 

Car getting up to temp and then oil at near normal operating temp for trundling along in winter with 5w 40 FS oil .

I thought it was oil temp the a !! But it must be normal , I take a picture if it comes up again or I hit the I go stick sorry.  

Low Oil level is a Yellow Oil Can and also a message on the Maxidot on some vRS. 

Low Oil Pressure is a Red Oil Can and can also be a message on the Maxidot on a vRS.  The Low oil pressure can show before the low oil which can be as much as 1.3 litres lowand not come on.

If warning lights come on and you open the bonnet yet do nothing the lights will go out.  There is still an issue though.

 

The Gauge is for the Coolant which usually shows at 90*oC once it gets up to that.

 

Oil temp does not come on until 50*oC then gets up to the 90*oC etc eventually.  You can leave that showing on the dash if you want it, or the fuel average consumption 1 or 2, or range etc.

That must be it , I just never seen it on the screen.
