Superb iV charger cable length

Featured Replies

I've been unable to find out the length of the 2 cables that will come with my new iV. Does anyone know the length of each of the supplied cables?

Thanks.

I think the VAG cables are all the same.

The granny cable will be about 7m.

The type 2-type 2 will be 5m (this is just enough for you to reverse into a bay and plug into a charger behind you, but you'll need to drape the cable over the side mirror because there won't be enough slack to lay it on the floor)

Thanks for your reply. I'm pleased at the length because either of those will be just long enough. Phew! I estimate that a cable of 4m or shorter just wouldn't reach.

Sorry to disappoint you but just measured ours, it is exactly 6m from the 3 pin plug to the car plug.

Thanks for that. It's curiously difficult, if not impossible, to get that information from Skoda. Seems a simple question but neither the dealership nor Skoda UK could give me an answer.

If this is to plug into a home charger and it's not too late, I'd recommend you get a tethered one.

It's annoying having to coil up a soaking wet cable and either put it indoors or in the car. Especially all through winter.

OK. 2 Questions:

1.  What does "a tethered one" comprise.

2.  I will charge in the garage, the cable won't be outside.

Good tips, though.

Tethered is where your ev charger (assuming you're using one and not the granny charger) has a hard wired cable with a type 2 connector on the end. It cannot be removed and is usually holstered to the wall when not in use:
