Fabia Mk2 Black Grille trim

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I'm a newbie so bear with me while I fumble through....Thanks.

My Mk2 Fabia has a cracked Black grille trim, the section above the front grille with Skoda Badge, and the lower section thin trim is Chrome (??), so I'm assuming the previous owner replaced the top section, but not the lower.

My question is where can I get both parts in Black. I've spoken to Skoda who say they have a set for the Monte Carlo and Roadster but the chap wasn't certain they would fit my Fabia.

Seen a few on cars for breaking, but either a billion miles away, they won't post, or the parts are the first to go.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

.....have a set for the Monte Carlo and Roomster......doh!

I bought this when I first got my Fabia and it has held up well.

Edit: My bad just noticed your car is a 2009 so it will be pre-facelift which that grille wont fit. I think you will have to get it painted yourself unfortunately.

I think due to the facelift, most people who wanted to de-chrome their upper grille, painted/had it painted themselves. The norm was upper part chrome, lower part black with certain models having a thin, chrome strip around it but usually, higher spec variants. So to de-chrome the lower part, just exchange the grille for a lower specced version. The upper you might have to work on... TBH, I found it funny people wanted to remove higher spec parts and go "Down market". I think it came around once people saw Skoda put the black painted trim on I think, the Monte Carlo and wanted to copy the idea. I personally, like the chrome touches. I even have a chrome tailgate strip.

Many thanks chaps,

Not as easy a fix as expected. Perhaps I'll just get a nice new Chrome set up which my local Skoda have said would be easy to obtain and relatively cheap, and that way get rid of the mismatched grille trim..... Maybe the Chrome will grow on me.....
