2.0 FSI (Audi!)

Featured Replies

Hello

I suppose this is a little cheeky but I did have, and love a Fabia Vrs (the best car I've owned IMO) and I'm looking forward to the day when I can get a new Octavia Vrs second hand when the prices come down. So perhaps I can slip this question under the wireas the Skoda forim seems to be the most helpful.

I have a new shape Audi A3 2.0 FSI (same as Octavia)with 70K miles. In the last two days it has started losing power with no obvious explanation. I thought it was dirty fuel but it did it again on the next tank full the next day.

It suddenly loses virtually all power with a clunk when you put your foot down (mostly after slowing down at a roundabout and then putting your foot down to put back the speed). It stays at 1000 rpm but doesn't seem to miss. There is just no power. It will the suddenly be OK. It's very odd and perhaps dangerous as you could be in the middle of traffic and wallop. I'm going on a 800 mile round trip from Tuesday so I don't expect the dealer will be able to fix before then.

Any suggestions, Please!!!!!

Thanks

I'd guess Coolant temp sensor, MAF sensor or coilpack on way out. A Vag-COM scan will most likely diagnose the problem so get down to your dealer or speak to someone with Vag-COM on here nicely.
