Noise during accelerating or braking

Featured Replies

Hello!

My 2018 1.6 diesel Superb Estate makes a noise when accelerating or braking aggresively. When the noise is heard during acceleration it has to be "reset" with braking to be able to repeat it. In other words if I accelerate twice without braking hard the noise is heard only the first time. This does not happen during my normal driving. I've made a video of the issue, the noise comes form the front passenger wheel. Any idea what could be causing this? I have taken the car to an official Skoda workshop where they recommended replacing the front ball joint, but honestly I doubt this is the issue.

Regards

Sounds like the brake pads moving in the caliper. Does it do it if you coast to a halt without using the brakes, then accelerate? Or if you roll down a hill in neutral, brake to a halt then release the brakes to roll away?

It only happens if I brake (or accelerate) hard enough. It is more frequent when driving up or down a hill when the car is under higher loads.
