Window wash not working 2018 octavia

Featured Replies

Hi. I have a 2018 Skoda Octavia and the screen wash has stopped working. The wipers operate but the pump doesn’t run. Fuse 42 is ok but I can’t find any info on which relay operates the pump. Any advice? Cheers

For both front and back??? 🥺

You might have a dead washer fluid pump then. Get an CANBUS scan and see if there are any errors and please report back.

Has it run out of fluid? My Passat run out last week and the motor stopped.

You should get a warning if the fluid runs low. It might be a blockage but highly unlikely. Make sure you use a good concentration of screen wash (especially in hard water areas) too.

Thats the wierd thing with mine. It didn't alarm like all the other cars I've had. Started up again fine when I refilled. Go figure.

Either a faulty sensor or there is a configuration glitch not to warn on empty

I’m not that daft! It’s full.

Only had the car since December and the honey moon period has meant I've kept on top of the fluids. So I've not had it go empty before last week. Will try to run it empty again and see if it does the same thing. Extended the warranty do I have 11 months to get it sorted if faulty. Thanks for making me think about it.

I'm havig a similar issue with my 2015 Octavia. Front washers work fine but the rear one doesn't. I've checked to see if the nozzle is blocked and taken the trim off the boot lid to check that that the pipe has not come loose from the wiper motor but all seems to be in order. when i try to use the rear washers i can hear the motor trying to work (too hard) in the engine bay, but nothing comes out the other end. Has anybody had this issue before? Or does anybody have any advice on what the issue could be? ... Bearing in mind that anything beyond introductory level DIY will be a tough ask!

Get someone to check under the car to see if fluid is coming out, while you are operating the rear wash function.

yeah, seems to be leaking from just behind the passenger front wheel arch. Not sure how to get in there to probe further but thanks for helping me to pinpoint the issue! Appreciate the advice!

Sounds like the pipe has popped off the motor or split there.

You may be able to see more if you can get the wheel arch liner out :)
