Skoda octavia 2.0tdi 2017 problem with hot start

Featured Replies

Hello guys, I recently bought skoda octavia mk3 fl 2.0tdi Dsg6 and since then i had problem with starting when engine is warm. When hot amd you turn key to start it up it just goes to 1000rpm and drops to 0. It will start normaly in the morning when engine is cold. I replaced battery and did service on alternator but no luck. Car was diagnosed but not single one error come up. Does anyone have the same problem? Thanks in advance

Sounds like you need to take it to a vag specialist.

However that being said, how long is it till the engine stops after start up?

Immediatelly,  it does that 2 maybe 3 times and that starts as easy as when its cold.

It doesnt start just rpms goes to 1000 and immediatelly drops.

I'd def get it to a vag specialist who can hook in vcds or similar and see what it is doing.

I did that (not in skoda authorized service)  and nothing came up, except something about immobilizer but no warning on the dash about that.

Then that is a place I would start looking at. Potentially an intermittent fault with the Immobiliser killing the power to the engine. What is the full error message/number?

I really dont know now but something about silent alarm if i can remember correctly. When starting it feels like its something choking it.

That will be the problem then. Two areas to check:

1) get a hoover and clean out the ultrasound sensors above the drivers head (a common issues on the MK2's and it's effected some of my MK3's as well). Dust.

2) The windows maybe not aligned properly so the car doesn't know if the car is sealed or not. You know this because of a rapid continuous flashing from the driver side door.  Press all 4 windows down and press and hold down for 10 secs. Now pull up all 4 windows and hold the switch in the up position for 10 secs.....

Usually No2 happens when the battery is disconnected.

I noticed when i press and hold on the key for all windows to go down, driver side window is not alligned with other windows (its 1cm lower than other windows). Can that be a problem?

Yes, so try just pushing the window down (press hold down) and bring it up and hold again. If it won't come up properly, you might either have a failed position sensor or you have a failing window motor.

I tried it and its not coming up properly as it should. Ill go check it asap and get back to you. Thanks
