Tdi dsg VRS Remap.

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have come from a petrol turbo and am looking for some advice about getting my vrs remapped. The car has around 45k miles on a 2015 plate, as it states in the title I have a dsg box. So there any evidence to say that you souls have the gearbox mapped as well.

Thanks.

I suspect you have a VRS with a 6 speed DQ250 box; so it is generally recommended that if you up the performance of the engine, then it is worth also getting bespoke firmware onto the gearbox.  I would recommend you go and speak with the folks from Darkside Developments who are specialists in tuning VAG Diesels.  Depending on your budget, you can expect an easy 200bhp from a simple remap, but generally anymore than 220bhp involves component upgrades and deep pockets.

I have a racingline mapped diesel superb 4x4 dsg. 235bhp and 540nm. It’s much better than the standard 190 and 400nm lol. Had a tdi manual octavia before and that was racinglines/shark map too. But that was manual. Tgat worked well at 225bhp and 485nm. No clutch slip etc. Both well over 100k miles.
on the dsg box the map changes the drivability massively and it should really done when mapped but not essential. It means the clamping pressures can be increased and shift times increased by quite a lot too. I’m not 100% sure but I think the gearbox has torque limits in too so if they haven’t been changed then it will still limit engine torque regardless of engine map ?
Just get box done at same time you’ll not regret it ;-)
