Superb MK2 air con problem

Featured Replies

Have had the car 6 months.

Climatrinic has seemed to work fine in that time.

Keeping me warm in winter.

As summer approached I tried the AC it wasn't exactly cold so went to have it re-gassed. Which it didn't need.

All the lights light up on the climatrinic to say its working.

The fuses are ok.

The blowers all work.  It just blows warm.

No codes on the HVAC, there is in address 9.

01320 - which corresponds to j255 which is the climatrinic unit I think.

Clear it, it comes back after a while.

Just no cold air.

What can I check I have. Vag com and can check blocks.

I know the heatwave will be over soon. But I'd like to have it working.

On another note, the heated seats don't work either.

Lights up again, but no heat.

Fuses are ok.

Not urgent that one though.

Thanks

No AC will give cold cold air in these current conditions, it should give colder than ambient air, say by at least 8°c.

Its very important to switch to recirc mode as soon as the system has evacuated the initial oven like air if the car has been left in the sun, that way it will drop the temp much much further.

I wish I could get that low.

Lucky to drop a degree at the vents.

It could be a problem with the clutch or hub. I have had a similar issue which was due to the splines on the hub stripping.

Is there any change in engine note if you cycle the aircon on/off? If not it's almost certainly an issue with the drive.

I don't think there is.

But it's not actually on the service schedule...

I asked for it to be done from an independent, along with gearbox and haldex and filter.

That's different; if I'd known that I'd not even have made the original suggestion.

Not a problem. Appreciate all the responses.

Will still be checking it incase they didn't.
