2017 SEL Exec 1.4 DSG with 90k miles!

Featured Replies

In the UK and thinking if going for 2017 SEL Exec Superb 1.4 DSG with alot of miles on it.

The cur used to be a company car so it could be well maintained but I am super worried about the gearbox.

I keep hearing stuff like that VW came a long way and that the new DQ200 are sealed for life with better reliability ... etc. But I am still worried

Any thoughts or ideas?

They are not Sealed for life.  There is no schedule or recommendations for changing either the oil in the box or the MCU / Mechatronic Control unit.  Both can be changed though.  No need to if all is well with the DQ200 DSG.   That is the same since 2009.  There are no NEW DQ200.  Just  new e-DQ200,s.    Then as far as filled for life.  The recall world wide excluding Europe was to change the oil from synthetic to mineral in what VW group people say is a filled for life box

What’s the price? That mileage is barely anything.

Around 10k GBP.

How to make sure that nothing is hidden or and DSG issue that is sbt to explode?

You need to see the service history to make sure it’s had the servicing carried out on time and by the book. If they don’t have it, walk away…
