Fake Xenon Lights

Featured Replies

Guys, this weekend, I was at a Auto Show here in my country and there was a Company selling some fake xenon bulbs. The bulbs was light blue color and produce a white light similar to the xenon. They say that it will not perfomace as xenon, but when the people look at your car they will think you have xenon lights. I have seen a lot of car with this on the street and yes its look like they have xenon.

I was checking the package and says 100/80 watts.

My question is how much watts are the factory Skoda NON xenon lights.

Can I just install this 100/80 bulbs on my front lights asembly???

Maybe since they are of a biguer wattage I can burn the wires or the fuse.

What you think???

Over here at least the dipped beam standard bulbs are 55W - main beam I don't know really - perhaps 80W? - although I know 100W bulbs run OK without any problems.

The idea of fake xenons is a bit weird to me - I'd rather have them, or just go for performance bulbs instead. Show isn't everything, and closer inspection will make people realise you don't have xenons, which would embarrass me more than just having better bulbs instead. This is my opinion anyway.

I'm certain that I read an article somewhere, a year or so ago, that stated that these 'fake' Xenon bulbs were not only not of any benefit, but were worse than your bog standard bulbs. I think, but I might be wrong, that it went as far as to accuse certain varieties of being dangerous.

I'll see if I can find a reference to this subject on the 'net somewhere if I get time. An eight o'clock  call beckons.

Hi Guys, I have had Fake xenon bulbs from a reputable company in many of my past cars and they are much better than your stanadrda stock bulb as ithey give your more light and a stylish look. I have recently put these bulbs into my fabia, and gained much attention.

This company give you 3 month warrenty on all bulbs and a 14 day money back guarantee if your not satisfied, cant really go wrong.

If your interested let me know on [email protected]

Most aftermarket 'uprated' bulbs, regardless of type, are better than the OEM ones. That said the xenon-look or yellow lights do tend to have a bit of a filtering going on that reduces the light output a tad compared to a 'white' version of the same wattage.

IMHO You'd still get a nice improvement over stock though :)

There are other lamps which have a blue effect, and are a bit brighter than the standard lamps, if it's the blue effect you want without risking getting dimmer ones.

Octavia H4 silver stars are much better light than stock bulbs

I was followed for a few miles this morning (5am) by some numbskull with Xenon blue 'fake' (and illegal beam patterned) head lights AND fog lights. Dickhead !!!

if you are looking for bulbs, try www.consumabulbs.com My dad put me onto then, and for the last year or so have had bulbs for a few different cars, including the Silver Star ones for my octy, and they are 10 times better than the standards one.

But my new car has got xenons, so dont need them, but have just ordered some uprated full beam lights, and some uprated fogs, not as if i drive with them on!!!

well, not now i have my xenons, i can see!!!

give them a try!!! free delivery, excelent service, if you have any problems, they just give you your money back!!! they are great, and the cheapest i have found on the web for most bulbs.

Chris (by the way, i have nothing to do with the company - just a loyal customer now!!!)

I've got white 'xenon-ish' bulbs on mine now, really as white as xenon, not blue, same fitting, same power output, but very much brighter than stock. Makes a big diff driving at night and style-wise.
