Radio logo on a 2021 Kodiaq

Featured Replies

I moved from a 2018 Superb to a 2021 Kodiaq. In my Superb, I was able to upload radio logos to the vehicle using a USB stick. I am having trouble doing that in my Kodiaq as the functionalities have changed. Anyone knows how to do that?

Thanks

Good luck.

It’s been tried on various VAG cars with mixed results.

I gave up trying after a few attempts.

Usually the logo appears on the central screen in the row of preset stations, but often refuses to appear on a different view of channel info.

And sometimes a logo appears on the digi dash windows and sometimes it doesn’t.

Not a show stopper for me as I’m only interested in the sound coming out of the radio, I’m not reading the pretty pictures.

You can't update radio logos on newer model cars, you have to hope the radio station sends the logo out themselves.

Same as you can't manually update any software on newer model cars with the usb c ports unlike cars with the sd slot.

The MIB3 system is unfortunately a major downgrade from the MIB2. The ability to easily update things like logos and the nav database using the USB ports has gone and the sat nav has a truly awful interface. One of the reasons why my next car won’t be anything built by VAG.

I can’t be the only person who doesn’t care about this, and simply uses the head unit as a display for CarPlay (or Android Auto, if you’re that way inclined!)?

Great if you have mobile coverage everywhere you go, or a mobile with lots of storage for maps. When you consider what they charge for the mediocre MIB3 System it’s very poor value for money, the MIB2 sat nav was miles better.

I am disappointed too.... My Radio screen looks boring w/o the stations logos....

MIB3 is supposed to be faster, but not better in my books.

They seemed to drop the personalisation options, DAB radio and the ability to update the maps on MIB 3..

I do like the wireless android auto (when it doesn't keep on dropping off), but would like the other features listed above that were in MIB2. I don't know how it can be called an update when they remove such useful features.

How can a service ticket can be opened with the manufacturer?
I am afraid the local dealer does not have much knowledge to assist….

Assuming you're based in the UK you can contact Skoda UK customer services and ask them to open a case. They'll then liaise between you and the dealer, and involve technical support if needed.

Unfortunately I am not located in the UK.
I am in Israel. I did talk to the local dealer’s technical manager, but I have the feeling he is not enthusiastic to take this forward with the Manufacturer.
I wonder if there is a Skoda (or VW owner) in the UK with a similar issue who can ask his/her dealer to assist.

I wonder if this is Skoda / VAG getting themselves prepared for the new Cybersecurity regulation?
