Engine sound

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am a skoda lover and after 3 fabias and a citygo I went with RAPID SPACEBACK SE TECH TD 1.6.

I don’t know if it’s me but that’s there is something in the engine sound that got me question it- taken it the garage and have removed the cover checked the timing belt, water pump and rollers and it’s none of those components and couldn’t identify the source of it.

any ideas ?

I thought rollers. It just sounds like something could do with a bit of grease.

Did they take the belt off to assess the true condition of the rollers / pumps? Hard to spot anything except gross errors if the belt is still on - wear may be hidden by the tension of the belt. I'd get them to do that and put a new belt on at the same time - seems like an odd harmonic from the belt / rollers to me.
