Leather passenger seat repair advice on Octavia Scout

Hi everybody

I noticed a few days ago that the front black leather passenger seat has developed a small tear in the leather along the outside edge where it meets the beading. I think it has been caused by passengers scuffing the seam as they get in and out and it’s only going to get worse. It has pulled away from the stitching. Can this be repaired easily or would it need to have a major repair? Alternately is there a cover on the market to cover just the chair back?

Cheers,

John

Might I suggest speaking with a car upholstery specialist in Dorset? They may be able to repair the seat for a cost effective price. A quick Google shows that there seem to be several around Poole area. You also need to make sure you feed/clean the shiny leather every 6 months or so to keep it good.

Thank you for that advice. As you suggest I’ll get in touch with a local specialist re the tear. I must admit that I’ve never treated the leather seats with anything in the 3 years I’ve had the Scout. Can you recommend a good product for cleaning/feeding the leather please?
