USB C charging

I have the same nextbase dashcam and had a similar issue. I think it's a slight difference in length of the connector so it won't go into the dashcam fully that causes the problem. I tried a few different leads, some had the above issue and others worked but were too short (wanted the dashcam on the passenger side) so ended up settling with a 40cm usb A to mini usb and using a usb c to a connector I had in an old Samsung mobile phone box.

As I said in my previous post, most of the reviews for leads on eBay and Amazon say that mini usb plug need plastic trimmed to insert fully  into dashcam socket properly, have you tried this?

Also these two posts quoted above, made while I was posting -  as you'll note in that extract from the manual above it says to use the supplied USB cable so there could well be something to this, certainly sounding more and more like a cable issue

Thank you for all the comments and direction. I thought I had bought a good quality lead but will try to find another, restriction is length as I only need c.35cm as usb is in rear mirror housing.

Did you sort this issue? I’m having similar but with wireless car holders. Lead plugged into my phone is fine but plugged into the wireless chargers none of the 5 sockets will power them. I’ve tried 3 different wireless holders and it don’t even light up the chargers.

Hi. I did in the end after trial and error with various leads. Don’t know why the one I ended up with worked. Longer than I would have liked but does the job.
