HDMI graphics cards

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any info on any make of graphics card with a HDMI connector which also supports HDCP ?

I know ATi are producing the RADEON X1600 PRO HDMI but that's all I know, I would like to find out how much this is going to cost and when it is going to be available.

Any other graphics card makers out there that are adding a HDMI port to their graphics cards yet ?

Reason I ask is I want to build a HTPC with this type of connection.

Thanks

There is a version of the nvidia geforce 6600 that has hdmi output. Currently I dont think its publically available, it is fitted into the Sony viao XL100 Mediacenter pc.

Cheers Manny will have to keep a lookout for that one. Not fussed about playing games on it but it must support at least 1080i and be HDCP compliant.

I have been looking at the Sony Vaio XL-100 HTPC. Looks quiet neet and has HDMI and component out.

It's looks like a PS2 !

HDCP? is that the copy protection? Was watching a video podcast a while back and they said there weren't anycards that offered it...

Why 1080i, thats wack. I'd prefer 720P over that! I have no idea why sky hd is broadcast in 1080i, thats crazy.

Yep it's copy protection which is going to come with Hi Def films eventually.

Why 1080i, basically my screen can go upto 1080i if needs be, but at this res it's scalled down anyway so just the same as 720p.

might be worth listening to this week in tech and www.dl.tv podcasts/videocasts they're always on about this stuff.

thought 1080i was pointless, thought the interlaced thing was down to bandwith issues in the past, but that shouldn't be an issue now? £10 extra a month on sky, shocking!

1080i I suppose is pointless as the human eye finds it very hard to tell the difference between 720p and 1080i so I suppose you have a point.
