cruisecontrol Order Cruise Control from Dealer For a 2014 Fabia

I'm trying to order Cruise Control from the dealer for a 2014 DSG Fabia with MFA (Maxi-dot trip computer).

But on their parts system its only lists models up to 2012 with a MFA as being able to be ordered.

 

Is there a reason why this part is unable to be ordered through the official Skoda parts system?

Looking on eBay and I found a listing for a Fabia Cruise Control with a part number 5J2035623A.

The following picture from the eBay listing states that it is for models built from 13/2010 to 22/2012 which is what the dealer told me with no alternative parts listed for post 2012 cars.

 

 

I found this old post where it says 5J2054690A is suitable for models >22/2012.

 

 

 

Why isn't the dealer not able to say that this part is suitable from their system?

does amaze me how some dealers really have no clue about vehicles they should be specialists in

 

see attached diagram for part number to order........and I will confirm it fits and works because I ordered and fitted one to my 2013 vRS

Thanks for the clarifying the part numbers.

I will give them a call and hopefully telling the part number rather than searching via registration number will allow them to order the part I need.

Managed to order it from the dealer.

The reason why it isn't being returned on the parts system was due to it only linked to fitting a Roomster and none of the other Fabia models.

Got the cruise control fitted today after 3 weeks waiting for the part to be delivered. 

It cost £456 in total and took the entire day to fit it.

I haven't tried it yet as my mother drove it. Hopefully it is easy to use unlike the Fabia 3 courtesy car I had a few weeks ago which had a speed limiter which I could not get on with instead of cruise control.

I’ve driven 450miles since the cruise control fitted.
I was surprised it works slightly differently to the one in my A3 so here are my observations on using it:-

• There is no indication what the speed limit is on the dashboard so when re-engaging cruise control I needed to check what speed that are is doing and then set it manually.
• The speed limiter only uses the engine breaking to keep to the speed when going down a hill or decreasing the speed to a lower one which can result in the car going over the set speed. On the A3 it will use the breaks are applied to decrease the speed so the car won't go over the set speed.
• Accelerating using the cruise control switches usually downshifts to a lower gear. It results in the acceleration being a bit quicker than I would like.
• Having the cruise control on the same stalk as the indicator is a bit fiddley and it is easy to accidently flash or indicate when changing the cruise control settings. I prefer the cruise control on dedicated stalk.
