Graphite Grey

Featured Replies

Ordered Octavia VRS TSI in May. Meteor Grey. Discontinued.

Changed to Quartz Grey.

On Skoda Car Configurator there is now Graphite Grey and no Quartz Grey.

Am I about to be told to change colour?

No build week yet BTW

Comments anyone please

I have been told the quartz grey is discontinued and is a lighter grey. This was aprox 2 months ago. The dealer said that all that have order back then has a chance to not get the quartz but the new light grey.

I too had ordered a new car in Quartz but contacted by dealer to say no longer available so have gone for Graphite .

When was this  ?

New Octavia SEL ordered 26. 08 .21 .

Contacted by dealer yesterday ....informed Quartz Grey no longer available so have gone for Graphite Grey .

Interesting topic ..I like the look of this lighter grey colour . I dismissed the quartz grey originally.  Do you reckon it's possible for me to change the colour considering the car was only ordered 2 weeks ago?

Thanks

If your order is not yet locked in (no longer amendable as production line slot is allocated and pending), then should be able to change colour (and possibly options)

Speak to your dealer, and get any changes confirmed in writing.

Almost certainty getting 2022 spec, so might be worth asking for copy of order as sometimes other things may have been changed as well.

Thanks for this. I'm going to email my dealer and you're correct they said it would be March 22 when I get it.

Dealer come back and said they can change it but it will not longer be price protected in case Skoda increase their prices so could potentially rise by 2-3% ...Is this normal?

I'm waiting to hear back also. Will update when I find out anything.

Not your fault colour is discontinued.

When mine was changed to Quartz Grey I was charged for paint as original Meteor Grey was nil cost

I can't see how they can say there is no price protection. other options with more costs like color and such ok but over the months some option may cost more and stuff. Is the date of order and waiting line also still the same when changing an option?

No idea.  My car was ordered 2 weeks ago in white and due march 22 . So there is no way it's been allocated a build slot or anything.  I requested a change to the colour only. Which is zero cost difference..  I just think the dealer doenst want to re do the order so putting obstacles in the way in the hope I give up

Depends on spec, all models have at least one free colour

vRS paint is free any colour (except velvet red which is £380 extra), the exclusive colour was changed to hyper green

Seven months waiting time?? Am I reading that correctly? That's nuts!!

Yes that's what I was told.

That's an awfully long wait, are all Skoda models taking that long or is it just the Octavia? I was thinking of changing the superb next year when my PCP is finished in June, at that rate I'd need to start talking to my dealer very soon. I was considering the Octavia but seeing all the problems owners are having I think I'll stick with the Superb. They've bumped up the spec of the Superb quite a bit too.

Afaik it only greatly affects Enyaq, karoq, octavia's, fabia mk4, superb. Scala and Kamiq are 3-4 months. Maybe because they use less chips or most likely because they are not sold as much which shrinks waiting list for the chips

Worth looking at values if your PCP is approaching expiry.   The lack of new cars has pushed up secondhand values.

If your balloon payment is say 10,000 and car is now worth say 13,000 then sensible thing to do is keep it and have 3000 equity.   Even if you sell it one week later you are better off than handing back under PCP.  Also got the option to keep it longer if it has done less mileage than expected due to lockdowns.

I also ordered a VRS TSI Quartz Grey in May. This thread made me ask my dealer what's going on with the colour and he did confirm that by now my car is switched to Graphite Grey by default, but I can request other colours.

Just had confirmation from dealer that I have now ordered a new  model 2022 VRS in Graphite Grey.

He has informed me that this makes no difference to delivery lead times or cost.

Waiting for a build week now lol

I would be expecting a lot more equity than 3k tbh. Since Brexit the stock of second hand diesels in Ireland has all but dried up completely. My balloon payment is just under 13k, 2019 Superbs with the same spec and mileage as my own are on dealers forecourts for between 28 and 30k. I'll see what I'm offered when I go to change, if they insult me I have the money to settle the balloon payment and keep the car.

Like everyone waiting for there news cars and hoping the delays are going to improve over the coming months.somebody has already said the plant who made a lot of chips was burnt down as started production.

Has anyone seen the Graphite Grey? I called into my dealer today to have a look at the “colour ball”, but they said they haven’t received the colour sample yet.

I know the spec Octavia VRS I want to order, but I am struggling to pick a colour!!

It’s now either Graphite Grey or Moon White…

I have not seen it but the dealer said it looked like audi's light grey color
