Hi all,

 

Car is a MK2 Superb and having issues with the interior lights. 

 

All lights can be turned on individually, footwell lights are working and also the little lights which illuminate the gear stick work. 

 

HOWEVER...when I unlock the car only the footwell lights will switch on, open the door and again the lights won't switch on. 

 

Switch the on and off switch nothing happens but press each individual map light and they work fine. 

 

Any ideas on what this is? 

 

I head maybe the convenience module but everything else is working - puddle lights as well as the follow me home lights when unlocking and also taking the key out the ignition.

Maybe the "main" switch near the rear view mirror is broken. Mine feels like it's working but it is actually stuck in the "turn on when doors are opened" position.

I wonder if I just take it down from the roof to have a look? 

 

Strange for it to break though as in the 6 years of having the car its hardly ever been touched!

Sure! Let me know what you find. Maybe I will fix mine as well some day.

Might be worth your while having a read of this thread for possible sources of the problem and solutions.

I had a slight problem with the main lights being a bit dim but map lights fine. Squirted a bit of switch cleaner into the overhead light switch which resolved the issue.

Did you get the interior light sorted ?

Ive got 3T5 on a 14 plate which is doing exactly the same thing.
