Chrome/Plastic trim discoloured

Chall

Recommended Posts

The trim around all the windows on my 2019 1.5 SEL Karoq has become discoloured and no longer has any shine to it. The car went into my local dealer under warranty and his reply was. Skoda will not replace this as its an issue with chemicals during the washing procedure which is not covered under warranty. The car was returned to me washed and cleaned. When I asked what chemicals were in the shampoo I did not receive a reply. Anyone else had this issue

Welcome.

At least they never said they are meant to be that way.

Were they the Warranty Manager for that branch?   People have has successful warranty claims.    But first pictures need taking by the Dealership Employee and then a Warranty claim needs making.

Products and cleaning ways can cause issues.

?

Have you had it from new, or how long?

Thanks for the reply and links. Yes I’ve had the car from new October 2019. Look like I’m stuck with it

In one of the linked threads (above) someone was going to look into having the trims wrapped but did not report back.  An internet search brings up loads of de-chroming and wrapping services which may be an option if you like the "black trim" look.  If this happens to me it's the route I think I will take and get some black badges/logos to complement.  Haven't got my car yet, it's parked in a foreign field somewhere awaiting semi-conductor chips.
