Where is the distance control for ACC

Featured Replies

I have a 2019 SE Technology estate and yesterday I collected a new SE Technology. The new one has keyless entry but the doors don't open when I touch the door handle (maybe higher spec models). I digress.

On my 2019 model I can adjust the distance for the Adaptive Cruise Control via a little switch on top of the stalk. There isn't one on the new model ... so where is it?

Mine has a switch on top of the stalk to adjust distance.

To open the doors put your hand inside the handle and pull. Touch the outside to close

A quick look on the Škoda UK website at teh SE Technology specs. - https://www.skoda.co.uk/new-cars/octavia/estate-se-technology

It shows…

  • Cruise control with speed limiter (i.e. NOT Adaptive Cruise Control)
  • Keyless start/stop system (i.e. NOT Keyless Entry)

So, unless you ordered ‘Full’ KESSY the doors wont open without the press of the key button; and similarly, without the option for ACC, then you have the standard CC. Do oyu have a third stalk on there left of the steering column? If not, then you don’t have ACC.

Cheers Sneal.  Just presumed that something on the earlier version would be included in the newer version. So instead they give me Lane Assist. I wasn't a big fan of ACC and am less of a fan of Lane Assist. Didn't know it was on.  Went out last night on a winding road and the steering wheel seemed to have a mind of it's own. I'll be turning that off.

You must have the full Kessy version Jmagee which apparently isn't what you get on the SE Technology.

it’s all in the marketing and product placement I guess!

I’m still getting used to ACC. Sometimes I think it’s the best thing since sliced bread, others, a right pain! Learning to adapt my driving to is all part of the fun.

Lane Assist I quite like; got used to it and doesn’t bother me at all, and helpful at times. Turning it off however, has to be done every time you start the car! You can though disable the vibrate.

What! I have to disable it every time!!! Madness. I find the ACC annoying more than useful. My new car is an auto and the old one is manual. I still have both of them, the old one goes back next month. I'm still feeling for the clutch

Not sure if the SE is the same, but on my vRS the distance setting is under the 'Assist' menu in the infotainment screen.

Maybe someone find this helpful
