Towing electrics

Featured Replies

Hi all. New to the forum and to Skoda, any help very much appreciated. I have a 2025 octavia 2.0d SEL Combi 116 hp. I'm in the process of fitting a towbar for a light trailer. No need to code it or switch off sensors etc. I've got the physical hitch fitted and all is fine. So long as I don't try to reverse too fast, automatic braking is not an issue. I've researched the wiring part and PF Jones have sent me instructions for the wiring kit. My car doesn't have towbar prep. It seems from the instructions, cars from July 24 on need to tap into the electrics both on the passenger side and under the steering wheel. Has anyone else come across this? How do you remove the panel under the dash on the driver's side (RHd)?⁹

Have you checked the towing weight for that car ?

Yep, all good and legal.

Pretty shocked at that, I thought they'd come with zero on the plate for a good few years now?

For that engine? Not sure why you're shocked, can you explain what you mean please?
