Hi all,

New to this forms and have a problem with my 2011 skoda octavia mk2 vrs 2.0 tdi.

The problem is I got bad diesel and unfortunately the car is just turning over not firing.

The mechanics in the garage changed the following no waring lights, fuel pump in tank fuel pump in engine bay as well as filter all new parts. Correct pressure to the injecters but still only Turing over. I seen on other forms that the crack shaft position sensor could be a culprit of it. Any help with this would mean a lot as the car is in the garage for the last 13 days.

Patrick, your post is a bit hidden here (this is for General Maintenance) you might get more response posting in the Octavia MkII section and there will be lots of other info on your car there. -https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/28-skoda-octavia-mk-ii-2004-2013/

I'm not technical or mechanical but I wonder if your garage are used to this make and model as if it's a crankshaft position sensor issue then it may (or may not) be a matter of using the VW/Skoda scan tool/ computer program correctly to reset it.  If your garage doesn't have the access or knowledge it could mean throwing parts and work at the issue unnecessarily (but for all I know they may well have the tools and knowledge and tried).

@Patrickk

Welcome to the forum.

?

Which country did you get the bad fuel and was it at a legal filling station?

Did you take a sample and are there not others that got bad fuel at the same place?

I hate that 'Were there is blame there is a claim',

but is there not in this case if Bad Fuel purchased kills the car.

Moved it to the Mk2 Octy for you.

I assume somebody has checked it's diesel not petrol. Far too easily done and also overlooked when you're not thinking about the contents of the tank when doing work.

I seem to remember there were some issues with starters that wouldn't crank fast enough to start a warm car and then later at all, but that's from memory so I could be wrong.

Worth checking the earth strap and leads to the starter are all in good condition and undamaged/not rusted.

I'd suggest looking at fault codes from a VCDS scan if you have somebody local to you who is willing to help.

Otherwise this might be helpful if you're in a DIY mood:
