Octavia big brakes

Featured Replies

Im new on here just bought Octavia 2.0tdi . Thinking about bigger front brakes and have seen mk7 golf 340mm.  Anyone had experience fitting these onto an Octavia  without too much trouble  ?

What size are your current discs?  You might also need 18" wheels to fit 340mm discs.  If your current discs aren't 312mm that's an easy upgrade with just the larger discs and caliper carriers  from a Mk5 GTI / GT TDI Golf.

Looked into the calipers and they have 60mm piston as opposed to 54mm as standard Octavia and also 53mm on mk5 gti calipers. So im thinking i would need calipers discs and caliper carriers as a minimum requirement.  Just hoping the hubs aren't different

You're also going to increase the unsprung weight a fair bit by going to 340 mm discs.  How much power are you running?

Our Karoq 190 TDI on standard sized, 312mm, drilled Brembo discs with Brembo HP pads has pretty good brakes for the road.

If I wanted better retardation, I'd be looking at the Darkside Developments kit to fit Porsche Boxster 4 pot Brembo calipers with the 312mm discs.

Got Golf R clubsport brakes on mine.... Work very very well and all directly bolt straight on, loads of room behind 18's.
