Octavia iV Headlight Error

Featured Replies

Got a "Headlight Range Fault" warning on the dashboard today. Headlights on dipped beam all the while the engine is running and the three light switches don't do anything now. Went into Lighting settings and operated the slider 0, 2, 4, 6 (see  below). Headlight beam responded accordingly, but the fault remains. Booked into the dealer next week (£60 charge to inspect; £20 charge for a courtesy car - all this used to be free!) but , in the meantime, does anyone have "re-set headlight range" remedy?

Headlamp levelling, LED headlights

In the Infotainment system, select the menu Outside .

  • ›  By moving your finger sideways, choose the screen with the menu item Headlights .

  • ›  Select Headlights .

  • ›  Select the menu item for headlight range control.

  • ›  Adjust the headlight range using the slider. The headlight range must correspond to the vehicle's load.

Can't help you but I wouldn't be paying for diagnosis on a car that's new.

So its got a fault in a months old car but you pay for inspection,  No chance!!! Dealer here are the 2 keys ,, robbing Bstards

A car only few weeks old, with a fault, and they want to charge you to look at it.  That’s not on.

A would ask Skoda customer services to tell them it’s unacceptable, they should be collecting the car and returning it free, not expecting you to pay to sort out the fault.

I had exactly the same problem, it needed a software update and then all was fine

I’ve got exactly the same fault on my Octavia iV! Headlight Range fault, but also a separate general Headlight fault. The three switches are not lit up, and do nothing when pressed.

Headlights still seem to work automatically when needed. The beam height control works as well. Just means I have no manual control when I need it.

Has anyone had the same, and able to confirm the fix? I see someone mentioned a software update. I’ve had several faults since getting the car a couple of years ago, and my local dealership usually make a meal out of fixing them!

I had this - faulty switch that was swapped out under warranty.
