Hi folks I've a button on my 2017 fabia colour edition that is for voice activation but when I use it, it say it needs to be activated by a skoda dealer ...my question is can this be done or is the button just there to fill a space on the steering wheel 🤔 

Pls post modle numer and SW version of your infotainment unit.

If you use Apple Carplay (Android too) you can hold this down to activate Siri (google assistant).

 

If you want this to be activated for use with Bluetooth connected phones you will need to have it activated via the dealer for a price.

Is this what you mean  ??

So you have Bolero MY18 with DAB/DAB+. This unit may have Voice Command activated by dealer. Alternatively, unit can be hacked.

What sorta money will those pesky dealers charge me for this job 🤔

If ordered when new, voice activation was £35.00 back in 2016.

It will be more both now and for retro fit.

 

I didn't bother with that but,

Android Auto works well ( for me ) and for free. 😉
