Haha, so for a long time now I've had a weird need/desire for fluorescent yellow wing mirrors, I never done it on my b5.5 Passat but almost did but this was before wrapping was a thing.

 

I recently started to think about it on my Superb but googled the colour and found someone had wrapped a G Wagon in exactly the same colour and in matte aswell, drool.

 

I've attached some photos, one being badly painted on in Paint by me and the other is the colour I want.

 

Does it look stupid and chavvy? (My wing mirror idea, not the G Wagon)

OK, so i've talked myself out of it.  I forgot that fluorescent paints/wraps don't last at all, game over.

I think the police might of had a word about it if you’d of done it. 

I'm sure there is a BMW round here with something similar. It certainly doesn't look bad for it but I think they have a few other fluorescent bits to help tie the wing mirrors in.

Erm, why would the police care?

 

AFAIK, there is nothing wrong with fluorescent colours or wraps being used on UK cars. As it's only the wing mirrors, there is no need to tell the DVLA of a colour change but the OP would have needed to inform their insurance.

 

If you start fitting retro-reflective materials then I believe those are subject to various restrictions

The door mirrors look ok to my eye, however, the reason I like the Superb is it’s ‘Q’ car anonymity…………so the day-glow trim is not for me.😎

Agreed. It's not chavvy, but do your really want to look like your big saloon thinks it's an endurance racer?

Many years ago I saw the Aston Martin DBR9 at Silverstone, that’s where I got my inspiration from 😍

I would rather do the grill surround, mirrors and maybe a small something else in a contrast colour, like a subtle deep red or maybe green, depending on your car colour. Maybe do the calipers in the same colour. Keep it classy, but different... I've seen the Nismo Jukes done here like that and find it quite good. The older 307s and V70s also had something similar with door handles and a couple of pieces of trim in silver metallic.
