Found it straight away today, must have been having a mental block yesterday...😉

Do tell! I find trawling through the manual very trying so you could save me some time! (It may not work on an ‘18 plate though)

On my Karoq. On infotainment screen go to main settings, assistants, assistant settings, Front assist, change setting to one of three

Thanks for the info. My '18 plate Karoq doesn't have that menu structure so It seems I don't have that option.

Enter Menu

Select Vehicle

Select Selection

Select Driver Assistance.

Simples!

Forgive my ignorance, what is "Front Assist" on a Karoq? (My ancient Superb doesn't have such gadgets.....)

On my car it gives a warning when you are about to ram the car in front up the backside.

Some drivers have had the brakes applied by this system, hence they  set the sensativity to one of the three settings available, description below from Skoda...

The Front Assist is a collision-alert safety system monitoring the situation in front of the vehicle via radar. ... It can also bring the car to a standstill if there is a danger of colliding with an oncoming vehicle when you are turning left (in a left-hand drive), for example when you are at a junction.

Thanks for the info, maybe I should consider purchasing a more up-to-date car sometime soon....

I had a perfectly decent Octavia but changed to a Karok 2 years ago. I wish I had stayed with the Octavia the so called improvements outlined above and many more are IMHO completely unnecessary  and can be a pain in the arse.

Warning lights flash up for no apparent reason, blades of grass are detected as a hazard, keyless entry, electric handbrake,  the battery is kept on low charge so that charging can occur on braking and the overrun. good for emissions but not so good for the life of the battery and much moe.

All these complications are bound to mean more problems for cars that age, OK if you keep a car for 3 years or so not so good for those of us that prefer to buy ouright and keep for 10 years at least.

Thanks for your thoughts / advice, I'll keep them in mind especially now that my Superb has been sold.

I still have a Golf as my runabout but I do miss the space inside my Superb 2.

he current Superb is just too big for my garage, the Arteon is an even better to car to drive but it's longer & wider than a Superb 3.

Any advice would be welcome...........
