Swapping DSG7 Gearbox ?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

I'm standing in the middle of a big pain

my car just broke down on me i recently had the P17BF fault code and i fixed that with at repair kit and it worked fine for around 1500 km after the installation but then suddenly out of nowhere the car started to get quit unstable both in idle speed but also in driven speed

the rev counter goes like at spongy needle between 600 rpm up till 4000 rpm and the same goes for the gears at light pressure of the accelerator up till around 35 km/h i changes all the way up till 7.Th gear and the whole car is just jumping its way down the road quit badly

my first thought was to look at the fault codes on VCDS but there was non!

then i did something abnormally stupid i went to basic setting and performed at basic gearbox alignment but but but!!!

i started the adaption i D! and not P! don't ask my why i head the levers made some noise out in the gearbox and i couldn't figure out why i didn't wanted to make adaption at first then i looked at the gear selector and saw that  it was in D

i quickly aborted  the basic gearbox alignment shotted the VCDS down turned of the car and started it again then i tried putting the car in D for a test drive but it didn't drove or selected any gears

then i tried performing another alignment starting from P this time it went successfully so i took it for a new test drive and not the big problem came the cars was just jumping it's way like i was braking down on a manual gear boxed car without hidden the clutch

a warning light came up "Apply brake" when i did that the car jumped two times more and then it stopped

so now my question

do i need to change the gearbox ?

if i do is there something i need to take in advance

and last but not least is a gearbox change just a clean swab or does it need a lot of coding and adaptation ?

Thanks In advance

Oliver

I would just do another basic reset on the hearbox. You don't need a new gearbox but you have reset the parameters in which it works so it won't work as smoothly.

I thought that my self but all in all I tried resetting the gearbox multiple times and it came out with the same result

otherwise I was also thinking about taking of the megatronic and see if the levers are in the correct position 🤷🏼‍♂️
