PR code part number finder

Featured Replies

I'm trying to find the original fitment part numbers for my car and they're proving to be somewhat elusive.

Can anyone help, perhaps with access to ETKA who can supply a full PR listing for my VIN, not just the small partial PR list in the owner's handbook/boot sticker.

I guess you're aware that you can get the full list yourself via erWin? Cost; 7 euros plus tax.

@Wino

Thanks for the heads up, presumably 7 euros is for an hour, it would be helpful if they made the costs visible up front before you have to register.

I eventually found the prices.

Yep.

Can get the car data from the vehicle specific info tab with VIN, then any number of SSPs and repair info pdfs from the individual vehicle info tab to make it worth your euros.

@Wino

Can you download the info or only view online?

Download.

Thanks, I hope it lives up to its claims, but in due course.

I'm looking to find out the original fitment part numbers for shocks, springs etc.

You won't find part numbers, but you will get all the PR codes necessary to spot the correct part numbers from ETKA.

If either springs or shocks are original they'll have painted colour dots on springs, and paper labels on shocks, which can identify them for free.

Not after a few rural Scottish winters they don't, farm traffic mud, cold and wet with lashings of salt on the roads kills cars, summer is the same just without the salt!

The PR codes I have don't cover the suspension components and there are so many fitment options available.  Over the years I have looked and cross-referenced part numbers until I had contra-rotating eyesballs and felt dizzy, there seems to be little that matches when it should.  Normally I'd ask my friendly local VW parts guy but he has moved on.

When it's time for bits I'll give erWin a go.

@dilksie recently? I know it worked a while ago, but thought it had stopped working.

I last used it about 6 weeks ago and got the details of the mother-in-law's new car with no problems. Not sure if it makes any difference but it was a Ford i was getting the info on.

@dilksie

Many thanks, mission accomplished.

I had used/recommended that site years ago but like Wino said, thought it stopped working/went offline IIRC.
