Error: Tyre Pressure Monitoring

Featured Replies

I had a tyre failure recently on my superb. The TPM warning came on as expected. I changed to the spare wheel and reset the TPM

After driving for a few miles a warning came on the dash - "Error: Tyre Pressure Monitoring" . Checked the tyre pressures - they were fine. So a i assumed it might be related to using the spare

I changed back to having all 4 standard wheels after getting the tyre replaced, checked the pressures and reset the TPM

I then drove it today for fewer than 5 miles and the warning "Error: Tyre Pressure Monitoring" has come on again.

The centre console vehicle status graphic shows all wheels highlighted in yellow.

Has anyone else seen this error?? Anyone knows what it means??

I've done another pressure check and TPM reset...

Hopefully all settled now then after reset and registering with the car.

It should be in the Owners Manual as 'Robert the Bruce and the Spider TPMS reset'.

If at first it does not set, try, try and try again.

I have it about once a year and no faults are logged. Hitting Set twice seems to reduce the chance of an error.

Sounds like u need to have the error codes cleared with VCDS or OBDEleven.

When u drive around with the spare for too long, the ABS sensors get upset, and ends up throwing a monitoring fault.

Doesn't matter how many times u reset it using the console/menu.

The Spare can be fitted or the pressures just at different pressures on different tyres and the TPMS set and it accepts that and can be as happy as Larry.

When the spare is fitted and the TPMS reset and the size has been logged it really cares not if it is on for 10 miles or 100 miles.

Got the T-Shirt.

several false warnings made me ignore one true and i blew up rear tire. (on ~110kmh speed)
i recommending install Direct TPMS, because our default Indirect is based on disk rotation count information, which is provided by ABS

about spare tire -
our stock size spare tire is 5.6% smaller in diameter than regular tire
i recommending replace it by closer size
