Clunk/clicking noise with fluctuation in RPM

Featured Replies

Since i received my octavia 8 model 2021 and i have been having this issue :

when im speeding and pass the 30-35km/h speed there are 2 clicking sounds and the rpm drops from 2000 to 1000 suddenly. And the sound occurs when the rpm is dropping. , the dealership are telling me nothings wrong but im pretty sure this is not normal.
i have added a video as well
please help, tell me what should i be checking

thank you

Looks like you have the DSG gearbox; what happens if you put it in S mode? This should make the gear change at higher RPM as well as display the selected gear (e.g. S1, S2, …, S7)

Could also try using the DSG paddles to do a manual gear shift, might help determine at which (if any) gear change the noise occurs.

1.4 TSI

automatic - 8 speeds

petrol

@Esto

So not a DSG.

Where are you, Australia?

?

Are these just 1.4 TSI's without ACT?  (Active Cylinder Technology).    So no Cylinder deactivation.

If the Dealership employee says all is as should be do they have another identical model to let you drive so that you can compare?

Not sure about the ACT but i will ask.
they actually offered me to try another car but  i declined, ill do that next time

@Esto  are you in Australia?  I have watched vids of VW cars in the USA and the Karoq in Australia with the 1.4 TSI and 8 speed auto and have not seen mention of ACT.
