Hi all. Newbie member, but have owned several octavias and superb over the years.

Looking for some advice, have just purchased a 66plate superb estate tdi. Great car and drives well, only issue is no service book with it. The last owner thinks it was new as a Arval lease company vehicle. He had it for 2years and has service history from the time he owned it. Any ideas where I can gleam any previous service history, prior to speaking to Arval.

If memory serves, service books were no longer being issued by that point.  Skoda should be able to tell you the history.  Give a dealer a call.  Or pop in, is probably a better option.

Service history is now stored online for the 'convenience' of the customer.

 

In real terms what it means is main dealers were loosing customers to independents so to get an 'official' service history you have to go to a dealer. But to make it better myself as an independent can update your service history and it will show up on the main skoda system but if you go into any main dealer they are only able to provide Skoda registered franchise service history so my updates wont show up unless they come back to me or keep the paper copy of the service update conformation. 

 

Basically.... the system is a joke to keep things inside the dealer franchise.

If you drop me a message with your vin number I can find a basic overview of your online service history.

The thing with lease companies chucking the service history is annoying. Found my old Passat for sale and not a mention of full service history because it must have been binned prior to auction (I'd kept all the advice notes in the wallet)

Aha, FREEDOM is the forum rank but I’m assuming it was meant for me  

if you drop me a private message with a photo of the vin number either from the drivers b pillar or windscreen I will retrieve the data for you and pm it back to you.

 

I ask for a photo to avoid any issues with retrieving the wrong vehicles and also from other peoples cars.
