how often do skoda update there sat navs?am waiting for my new car but the son has skoda superb 2020 .his sat nav is so out of dates there are roads not on it that where completed 4 yeras ago.so just wondering how often.

The updates are about monthly; and AIUI, the 1st year is free then an annual subscription.

In 8000 miles across England, Wales & Scotland I haven’t yet found a road not in the SatNav.

Not sure if Superb has the same way of updating maps as the new Octi. Could be you still need to do it manually in the Superb?

If it's a MIB3 sat nav updates are OTA (Over The Air) but earlier MIB units have to be updated by downloading maps from either the Skoda portal or (better) using the links posted on here by @MartiniB and installing them via USB or SD card (if an Amundsen they must be installed onto a genuine Skoda SD card).

 

Note that map updates for MIB1 units stopped at 2020/2021 maps because Skoda do not support them for more than 5 years.
