connect car to use phone as a hotspot

Featured Replies

Hi

Has anyone managed to set their phone as a hotspot and get the car to connect to it to use your phone data.

It is a Kodiaq 70 plate.

I cannot get it to connect as it just says connection failed, my daughters phone says the same when she tried.

I have a MIB3 columbus system.

I have turned off the esim and in the wifi settings, I can see my phone and after I enter the password it just says connection failed, tried changing the password but still no luck.

It will connect to my home wifi network without a problem when parked in the drive but not able to connect to a phone.

I was trying to use the internet radio but it will not work on the built in esim but will on the home wifi.

Any help would be greatfull.

I did it with mine around a year ago, but haven't tried it since.

Have you set your phone to share data as well as act as a mobile hotspot?

I can connect my iPad to my phone so it does work, not sure how you check if it is set to share data.

My daughter has connected her tv to her phone to stream so hers works but not with the car

If you're an Apple family then my comments may not be appropriate. but with my Samsung Galaxy S8 Android phone I have a 'Data Sharing' function that lets other connections use the data allowance on my phone.
