Dash cam / simple (hopefully) question.

Featured Replies

I use my phone as a dash-cam. Secure bracket screwed through the roof lining beside the light / glasses holder, and it works pretty well. Sits just to the side of the rear view mirror.

Well chuffed with it in fact and with an SD card I can record in full HD

The issue I have is that is is no good when driving towards a very low lying (edit. ie blinding) sun............It gets blinded / glared out. And this is a prime time for accidents happening I would think.

Do dedicated / everyday dash-cameras do this or do / can they compensate for this, assuming automatically if they do / can.

Cheers.

I have a 2 channel blackvue dashcam setup in my wife’s motor, and can honestly say it manages all lighting challenges extremely well. I checked it when I first fitted it just to see if reviews were correct, but it picks out registrations in very bright winter sunlight, and seems to manage oncoming traffic on unlit roads in the middle of the night just as brilliantly.
I really must get around to fitting one to my own motor.

I've got a nextbase 3 series and I've looked at some pics in various light situations and it seems to cope with varying light conditions.

Black vue email through not long ago showing 60% off some items. 2 channel system from £199 if that’s any help.
