Is this normal from the 1.5 TSI electric steering rack?

Featured Replies

After only 35k miles?

- creaking/clicking when manoeuvring at low speeds - ie a three point turn

- a rubbing noise from the steering, again a low speed turning/manoeuvring, at certain points in the turn.

- a horrible (intermittent) crunching noise when the steering approaches/reaches the end of travel (full lock)  (I know it’s not advisable to put on full lock but often there’s no choice).

And if there is an issue with the rack/pump will it be covered under the Skoda warranty??

The Manufacturers Warranty is there to cover faults in design, manufacturing or materials so on such a low mileage you best find out if there is any of that.

They can not cover environment influences like hitting speed bumps hard or potholes.

Just read your post in the other thread about a suspension and the pothole and your suspension.

Best get a very good inspection carried out, and especially as your car is a taxi.
