Estate boot lid intermittent fault

Featured Replies

Hi fellow Skoda owners

im having an intermittent fault with the boot lid of my 2017 skoda superb sportline estate.

The boot lid is unresponsive sometimes ie won’t open with the key fob, button in the car or the actual boot lid lever/button.

Im hoping this might be a cheap easy fix.

The car is equipped with Kessey.

I did have a quick search on here but couldn’t find anything similar.
any help would be great cheers

When it does not work, is the boot latch making any kind of noise at all? Or is nothing happening?

Really it will need reading for faults to see if there are any stored.

It doesn’t make any noise at all. It won’t respond with any of the opening buttons then I would take it for a run and try again and it will work normally with all buttons.

Does it work if you lock and unlock the car again? Or would it work if you started the car and then tried the interior or exterior button?

Doesn’t seem to. I tried locking/unlocking the car, starting the engine to see if it would reset it but nothing. When I happened I had to pile my folks suitcase in the back seat, drove home about 23 mile, tried the boot again and it worked.

I would check the wires in the rubber umbilical between the body and the boot lid. They can fracture due to fatigue caused by the boot being opened and closed.

Not shutting down due to the battery then. Need to get the connections checked to see if the motor is getting power or if it maybe even stops at the module.
