RECALL ?

Featured Replies

Just received a recorded delivery letter from my dealer, obviously prompted by Skoda uk saying: ' We have discovered that your vehicle requires a free product enhancement that needs to be carried out. We would like to perform this measure asap, please ring and make an appointment.... or contact any Skoda authorised repairer....' On enquiry the recall apparently concerns headlight adjustments which should take well under an hour to complete. My new SE delivered last October has been booked in for next Wednesday.

Anyone else received this recall ?

No.

Put my VIN number in - not listed - how strange !

Work was done today by the dealer, apparently a minor headlight adjustment, done within 30 minutes of my arrival.

Called 'a free product enhancement' - is that just another name for a recall or not ? Who knows, however it's been done, not that I noticed anything wrong in the first place.

@revnethThey contacted you so the person doing it can say RECALL, RECALL ACTION or whatever, a Service Campaign is what it is.

Many are Skoda Secret Service Campaigns where the cars owner need not be told.

Sad really how Skoda can have a VIN checker for owners that often is not up to date.

If people that are Registered Keepers are not all contacted if a Dealership does not have their Contact Details and the DVLA in the UK are not asked for them then it is just a Manufacturers Recall.  A Voluntary one and maybe some Dealers are keener than others to get vehicles in for some work / money from the VW Group.

The day is coming in the UK that manufacturers will be required to do Recalls and especially Safety Critical that Manufacturers do not bother to make public.
