Kessy on drivers door not working

Featured Replies

Has anyone had and succesfully resolved Kessy issue of not working on drivers door?  i have a problem with keyless entry only on drivers door. I need to tuch the rear door handle to either unlock or lock the car. This happnes i would say in 80% of cases (except when i take the car to the dealers shop, than it always work perfectly...fckn Murphy lol)

When the car was at the garage, diagnostics showed no issues and errors. Also both key bateries are new.

This time i made video which is on below link...

This happens to me at least 50% of the time, i just get the key out. I don't use KESSY anymore as its so unreliable (Skoda Uk will probably tell you its 'normal' like that and a safety feature' 😊). TBH I don't expect anything in the Octavia to 'work' as advertised if it has anything to do with software, the software is so bad its quite unbelievable.

I'm experiencing the same issue. Did you end up finding a solution?

Not a confirmed fix, but when only one door handle misbehaves on KESSY it's usually worth looking at that door's handle sensor/antenna and its connector (water ingress is a common cause) rather than the key. A garage with VCDS/ODIS can check the KESSY antennas for faults on that side. Fresh key batteries are already a good first step, so I'd focus on the door side.

When my car was new in 2024 kessy on the drivers side was patchy. But the last 1.5 years it has been working flawlessly.

Thanks Micky, useful to know it settled down for you. Did anything change in that time, such as a software update at a service, or a dealer re-seating a door connector? Patchy at first then fine later makes me think of a marginal handle sensor or antenna connection, or a software fix. For Soko1982 and trupus, it might be worth asking a garage to check the driver's door handle sensor connector, and the wiring through the door hinge loom, for water or a broken wire.
