Can I Retrofit ABS?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I notice in the price list on Skoda's UK Website that ABS+ASR+EDL is A

Not sure on the ABS, but the heated seats should be easy enough to wire in and fit (assuming you get the switches, relays and wiring as well as the seats) :D

Chris

No, though possible it would be quite a job, the ABS has a separate control module and wiring (may be in place if a standard loom), the wiring is attached to wheel sensors which generally have a slightly different hub design so you would need the appropriate hubs, not to forget that the brake pipes are all different and converge under the engine bay in a big block (modulator I think these are called) and a pump (generates the pressure to pulse the brakes). The display usually has a indicator light that would either need attaching or plumbing completely.

Cheaper and easier to buy a car with it fitted, all cars have it as standard nowdays as far as I know, not sure when it was made mandatory.

Another question, I know Im terrible for asking questions at the moment:O

Smoked Side repeaters, an easy fit?

I jusst have this urge to make discreet modifications to the car at the moment

I think you need to remove the wheelarch liner (Torx screws hold it on, you'll need to take the wheel off), then pop the repeaters out from behind.
