Infotainment Screen at Door Opening

Featured Replies

Hi,

Not sure if I have just had a senior moment or something has changed.

The car had been sitting for a couple of days, then this morning I opened the door, sat in, and expected the infotainment screen to start up as it always has done as far as I recall. Nothing!

So I had a blank screen and I thought "Oh no the dreaded key battery issue" so I went and got the spare, back into the car but still a blank screen.

However it started as normal, and after starting all seemed normal. Drove nervously 7 miles to do some shopping. After shopping unlocked the car, back in and blank screen again. However car started fine, then looked and ran normally all the way  home.

I have just gone out to the car to check I am not imagining this and sure enough, open door, blank screen, car starts OK.

Has this happened to anyone else? Am I mis-remembering the actual sequence that is supposed to happen or is this an upset condition?

Any advice from the vast knowledge of the forum greatly appreciated.

Have you tried turning the info screen on by pressing the lefthand button?

The only time this has happened to me has been after I've turned the radio or nav system on without turning the ignition on.

Hi Chris

I guess the info screen is on because as soon as I start the car the screen bursts into life with the usual personal locator message. However I was just thinking I should maybe perform a reset of the system by pressing on/off button for the 10 secs.

Maybe try that tomorrow if not too many flying trees.

I think you are mis-remembering. I've just checked mine. Got in, with no 'ignition' the digital dash' wakes up;' but there is nothing on the infotainment screen. It only comes alive when you press the start button, either to switch on 'ignition' or to start the engine.
