Broken rear wash wipe pipe...

Featured Replies

On our (facelift) 18 plate Citigo the rear wash wipe now doesn't work because the water pipe has fractured within the boot lid.   In fact if you activate the wash wipe then the water pours out on to the parcel shelf!  😮

You can see the busted pipe next to the wiring in the 'boot' shown in the attached photo.

Couldn't see much about this when searching on here but is this likely to be an easy fix or a pain?  I think pain 😞 because how do you get to the pipe?  Perhaps I can find some parts to join/splice it all together again?  Any suggestions?

Is rear wash wipe in this state an MOT failure?  (Meaning do I need to get it sorted before mid March or can it wait?)

Ta for any info.

No.    No rear wash or wipe required for an MOT.

Thanks, AG Falco

I'd reckon that you would be better off buying 2 of these jointing pieces and a length of new same dimension washer fluid pipe, if you do that you would be pulling the cut ends of the pipe back in both directions so that the 2 joints were well away from the gaitor area and so away from any points where the pipe gets flexed due to the hatch being opened.
